2-day Official Introduction to Transactional Analysis

The Official TA101 Course

What is Transactional Analysis?

Transactional Analysis (TA) is a model for understanding human behaviour, communication and relationships. It was originally developed in the 1950s by the late Eric Berne, MD. This introductory course will examine the theory of TA, including the structure of personality; transactions, or the way we relate to others; time structuring; the psychological "games" we play; and life scripts. Members of the course will have the opportunity to apply the theory to their own behaviour and the behaviour of others in the group.

Who should attend?

This "TA 101" course will be particularly useful to anyone wishing to work in the helping professions, or in management, communications or teaching. It is the first step towards professional training in TA psychotherapy, organisational, counselling or educational TA .It will also be helpful to anyone interested in understanding more fully their relationships with others.

Recognition

This course - the "official TA 101" - is recognised by the International Transactional Analysis Association (ITAA) and the European Association for Transactional Analysis (EATA) as their standard approved introduction to TA. Completion of the course affords you the "TA 101" certificate; a necessary requirement for those wishing to enter accredited training as a TA practitioner.

Course dates for TA101 courses at Le Sarment in 2008:

9th and 10th February, 17th and 18th April, 28th and 29th June, 30th and 31st August, 20th and 21st October.

Come and learn about Transactional Analysis, counselling and psychotherapy to the sound of cicadas. Have a coffee in the sunshine and wateh the wall lizards play! In the evening, drink the local Bordeaux wines in the glow of fireflies or walk around the 12 acres of land and listen to the frogs and the birds of south west France, including, occasionally, the shy oriole.
